The crazy 20’s invasion in Fascism and Nazism!
On
Thursday 24, October, 1929 there was a stock market crash in New York, which
led to a prolonged period of crisis. The crisis quickly moved to the whole U.S.
economy, European and other world areas.
This economic
crisis severely impacted the middle bourgeoisie, who suffered the consequences
and not the insurance of a good income, and security of the State. The middle
class and the proletariat lived in a poor way, and the triumph of the socialist
revolution in Russia, caused fear of a social revolution in both, the small and
the big bourgeoisie.
The
crisis affected everyone, because of the liberal concept of freedom of the
market. The only way that the crisis does not affect a country is to have a
protected market. The uncontrolled market crisis unfolds worldwide, bringing
the middle class discontent and disillusioned, desperate unemployed,
unemployment became a mass event!
In
Italy, after World War, there was felt everywhere the revolutionary spirit, unions
get some of their most important claims, and had in the strike one of his most
effective weapons. It called for a reform of a political nature, which was
strongly required. In this situation the big business used the fascists of
Benito Mussolini to intimidate workers and broke strikes and violent
demonstrations. The class that had the bigger impact in this depression was the
middle class and the proletariat.
In
Germany there was a genuine workers' revolution after the defeat in the war, a
revolution in which they were involved the workers and peasants, but failed to
succeed and was crushed violently, after the murder of Rose
Luxemburg.
In 1920
Adolf Hitler organized these groups into a single party, the NSDAP or Nazi. In
1923 there was a unique organization, the Nazi Party. Their political program is
defined from the beginning, it talks about the mistakes of the war, about not
paying, economic protectionism, the docility of the state against foreign
powers, and that the party should control the
state.
The
middle classes are subjected to free market competition, and looked favorably
on this program. To them the class struggle was a foreign concept to them
because they are considered bourgeoisie by the proletariat, but they weren’t rich.
It was nearer the idea of class collaboration on a common project, the idea
of homeland and nation, and putting the general interest and the state above
classes. The farmers were part of the little bourgeoisie, as were small
landowners who cultivate farms. In addition, agricultural prices rise less than
the industry, creating a tension between agriculture and industry. The main
capital of the peasantry is the price of land. Hitler attempted a coup d'état
in 1922, which shall be sentenced to prison, but will win the 1933 elections.
Italy and Germany started struggling with the Great depression and they would
have an important economic role in the European countries. The wall street crash brought unemployment and it is
going to be added to the problems of the people in many countries.
